Part 1: Starless
"And there she lies, broken on the grass
Awaiting the moments til her life is gone
Her father weeps by her side
Torn by anguish
He holds her hand tightly
As she slowly slips away"
A starless sky above
Once the reflection of her life
Never to see the lights again
Now that she has died
A starless sky above
Once the reflection of her life
Never to see the lights again
Now that she has died
Cursed to live in darkness
We've lost what once was our guide
We will never know peace again
Now that she has died
One by one they fade
Each extinguished by the dripping of her blood
Only the moon will remain
Alone in a starless sky
How could I do this
How could I end the lights of the night
Why would I do this
Condemning us to live under a blackened sky
Give me back my daughter
Give us back the stars
Grant me my revenge
Now that she has died
Forever Night
Instrumental
Part 2: Sunless
"I watched the stars fall from the night sky
like flies caught in some airborn poison.
I watched as dawn's light tried in vain to breach the horizon
before fading to obscurity and darkness...
... And it is all that I ever wanted..."
I, who now dwells in darkness
Who breathes air of poison
May my grief become conviction
For I have already slain the light
Her body preserved in moonlight
Serene as our starless skies
Forgotten to all
Daughter of the stars
Hands around her neck
Her dying smile
An ephemeral voice
As lights begin to fade
Eyes close slowly
Breathing subsides
Skin grows cold
Body grows limp
Her hair like the stars
Her eyes like the sun
And her soul like the moon
Don't worry, (my darling), I'm coming, (I'll be home soon)
I'm so sorry, (my darling), I made you wait, (I'll be home soon)
Your night is beautiful, (my darling), I'm so glad it will never end, (I'll be home soon)
This gift, (my darling), my gift to you (I'll be home soon)
A return to splendour
A body to the grave
Her cosmic resting place
A father's rage
We've lost our light
Our days end
No more sunlight
As moonlight descends
Falling Stars
Instrumental
Part 3: Moonless
I've been gone too long
All as I left it
Is worn out and tired
And covered in dust
Her room is dark and empty
Memories float silent
In the still night air
Cementing my regret
I'll never see her again
I'll never feel the warmth of her smile again
I'll never breathe words of comfort to her again
I'll never see the sunlight again
And as the world now comes crashing down
The lonely silence rings in my ears
Moving slowly through the immortal night
She precipitates like rain
Our light no more
Sorrow leads me by the hand
And shows me my litany of failures
The stars taken from the land
Just another one of my failures
And as the world now comes crashing down
The lonely silence rings in my ears
Moving slowly through the immortal night
She precipitates like rain
I now fear the dark
It's like the rain washes my shame
Born anew in pure darkness
Like sparkling moondust
She tears the night away
We thought what we could not
I welcome our end
And the shape of her smile
Was sparkling moondust
The shape of her smile
Is sparkling moondust
The shape of her smile
Is sparkling moondust
